Martin House is a unique, and historically significant architectural property, which makes it ideal for the development of a boutique hotel. The project scope includes a 74-room boutique hotel with a full-service restaurant, coffee shop, meeting space, conference room and restored grand ballroom. The space has played a culturally significant role in the life of the Akron community and specifically the University of Akron. It was initially designed in 1918 as a social club for Akron’s titans of industry and then served as the administrative offices for the University’s Foundation.
Martin House is located across from the Hower House Museum on the campus of the University of Akron and was recently designated a local historic Landmark by the City of Akron. In June 2019, the project was selected to receive historic preservation tax credit by the State of Ohio.
The project is a collaborative between Paran Management Company, The Gateway Group and our partners at the University of Akron and the City of Akron. Paran looks forward to sharing more about this unique collaboration throughout the development process.
